Po kilku latach udaje mu się uciec dzięki wsparciu współwięźnia Lucasa (Ryan Guzman). Postanawia też odnaleźć ukryte po skoku pieniądze. Wciąż jednak cierpi na amnezję, co nie ułatwia sprawy. Przestępca liczy, że odzyskać wspomnienia pomoże mu eksperymentalny lek. Śladem zbiega podąża detektyw Sykes (Sylvester Stallone), gotów na wszystko, by go aresztować.

    Dwie młode Amerykanki, Stephanie (Amber Heard) i Ellie (Odette Annable) spędzają razem wakacje w Argentynie. Na ostatnią noc zatrzymują się w niewielkim miasteczku przy granicy z Paragwajem. Wieczorem ruszają do miejscowego baru, gdzie poznają Amerykanina Michaela (Karl Urban). Nazajutrz rano przyjaciółki spóźniają się na jedyny tego dnia autobus. Postanawiają wykorzystać dodatkowy dzień wolnego i spędzić go nad wodą. W wyniku sprzeczki kobiety na chwilę rozdzielają się. Wkrótce Ellie znika. Jedyny pracujący w okolicy funkcjonariusz nie kwapi się do udzielenia pomocy, a mieszkańcy nie chcą z nieznajomą rozmawiać. Jedynie poznany wcześniej Michael oferuje swoje wsparcie przy poszukiwaniach. Okazuje się, że jego dziewczyna także zaginęła w tych okolicach jakiś czas temu. Film jest debiutem reżyserskim Marcosa Efrona i jednocześnie remakiem obrazu z 1970 roku.
